Closed Circuits
Alpha FM Services offer a comprehensive fault finding, commissioning and management programme for all closed system applications. We provide trained and experienced operatives operating within a management framework that ensures safe and effective working practices and appropriate record keeping at each part of the process.
Sampling and analysis as part of a planned preventative maintenance regime is the primary method of assessing the efficiency of the water treatment programme. The typical frequency of routine monitoring for closed systems is 1-3 months however more frequent monitoring may be desirable during the first 6 months of operation of a new system or immediately after any significant system changes.
In newly fabricated heating and cooling systems debris including jointing compound and other building debris will inevitably be found. If this debris is left in the system these contaminants will make the system prone to blockages and may encourage the proliferation of microorganisms within the system.
Pre-Commissioning, Cleaning & Flushing of Pipework Systems
Pre-commission cleaning is achieved through a process of flushing and chemical cleaning (when required), followed by the addition of biocides and inhibitors. The success of the cleaning process is determined by periodically analysing water samples from the system for a range of parameters. Including but not limited to, suspended solids, iron and bacteria. Once the flush is complete the system is dosed with Water Treatment for Closed Heating and Cooling Systems.
Water Treatment for Closed Heating and Cooling Systems
The treatment of water in modern heating and cooling systems is essential for the avoidance of microbiological fouling (biofouling), corrosion and scale. These problems can result in energy waste, poor system performance and the need for early replacement of plant and components. The consequences of inappropriate or non-existent water treatment can sometimes be disastrous.
There is no one treatment programme that eliminates corrosion and deposition in every application and in most cases there is more than one possible option available for each application.
Based on system design and application we will tailor a water treatment programme to meet your needs.
Balancing
Alpha FM Services Ltd provide trained and experienced operatives to proportionally balance closed circuits to their design flow rates.
Flow rates are set at the design stage and are intended to satisfy the required distribution of heating and cooling in a building.
A well balanced system prevents stagnation, the sedimentation of any suspended solids, the formulation of biofilms & the associated microbiologically influenced corrosion, as well as maintaining the desired distribution of heating or cooling.
