Water Hygiene Legionella Risk Assessment

It is a legal duty to carry out an assessment to identify and assess whether there is a risk posed by exposure to legionella from the water system(s) or any work associated with it.

A suitable and sufficient assessment must be carried out to identify and assess the risk of exposure to legionella bacteria from work activities and water systems on the premises. ACoP L8.

 A Water Hygiene Legionella Risk Assessment involves:

An asset register of all aspects of the system being assessed including photographs.
A comprehensive temperature survey to establish if the primary control measure is effective in all areas of the system.
Risk identification and recommendations made to establish a control scheme.
A prioritization of risks and recommendations.

On completion the Water Hygiene Legionella Risk Assessment is issued in PDF format and hard copy on request.

In addition we can compile a site specific Water Hygiene Log Book incorporating the Water Hygiene Legionella Risk Assessment.

Risk assessments are considered to be a living document and as such need to be reviewed to ensure they remain up to date. This update should be carried out every two years, or when any changes to the system have been made.
